Please note that the City of Austin has issued a no-left turn onto Red River Street when heading East on East Cesar Chavez Street. To enter Fairmont Austin’s front entrance, please turn left on Trinity Street, which is one block before Red River Street. Please ensure that you follow this route detour to avoid the $500 fine as enforced by the City of Austin.

I own a large company and stayed here as a test run to see if it would be a good fit for a company retreat. Overall it was a favorable experience. I did have some hiccups though. When I purchased the gold upgrade I told the front desk people I was going to have my son come visit for a couple of hours. They happily said no problem, that he could come have breakfast with me. They offered to have him check in and give him a card when he arrived. Then when I went to the Gold lounge, the supervisory staff flipped out on him and then went on to lecture me. I tiried to explain to them what I had talked about wih the concierge at check in. The money wasn't the issue for me. I've stayed at the Plaza and 4 seasons, etc. I also found the lounge to be loud, foreigners marching about talking loudly on cell phones for the entire lounge to hear. it was sort of a free for all up there. My son and my other guests were just trying to have a quiet break and a few snacks and drinks. I just think the.supervisory staff in Gold were out of their depth. Maybe they would have been better suited at a Courtyard Marriot or Holiday Inn. Downstairs concierge was amazing. Room service is lacking, food mediocre at best. I've had better at 3 star resorts in Mexico. The hotel itself is gorgeous and the pool is great. Otherwise the rooms were great. Really the place has so much potential, but the service was just too inconsistent. I decided to keep looking for the next place to have our company retreat.
Only problem we had was our suite had a pull out bed in the living room- when we got ready to use it there was no bedding none! So we called and had some brought up but it was not comfortable or warm! Would think that the bedding for those pull outs should be as nice as the other beds or even better
My experience was great. The employees i came in contact with were very pleasant. Smelled amazing going in the hotel. Lobby very clean and updated.
